McDonald’s in Japan
Wednesday, May 20th, 2009

Instead of the mad scramble of “queueing” and guessing as experienced in many other countries, this McDonald’s in Nagoya has a true first come first served arrangement. Because when you want to get fed, you don’t want to get fed up.

Busy
Saturday, October 11th, 2008Unlike the usual me I’ve been working 5 days a week for the last few weeks. It’s a tough life.
Ying had a big lunch with some colleagues that made her feel ill for the rest of the day. Right now we’re home watching Iron Chef (铁人 - tetsu jin). The secret ingredient is curry powder!!! These are all repeats from Japan about 10 years ago, but it’s still a great show.
I’ve been asked to lead at Church again tomorrow. That means I don’t preach, I just lead the service. One thing I really enjoy when leading is that I get to choose the hymns.
Densha de Go! Shinkansen - Intro
Saturday, September 20th, 2008I’ve just posted this clip while I’m waiting on the phone with my ISP TPG. I wish they had a clue what they were doing. Good downloading speeds, though. Last night I got the fastest I’ve ever seen - over 500kb/s.
japan was ace fun
Saturday, June 21st, 2008Here’s an old photo of Ying and Asher having lunch in one of the many railway stations we passed through in Japan.
Originally this photo wasn’t blurry, but when I resized it to fit on this blog it turned out a bit fuzzy. The picture below of my hard drive is even worse.
I’d like to go back there. But it won’t improve Asher’s Mandarin (or English). Priorities priorities.
Kyoto
Monday, September 10th, 2007Currently we’re in Japan, enjoying it immensely. We’ll be in Kyoto tonight and tomorrow night, then Tokyo for a night then Nagoya and home again via Singapore for a few days.
As soon as I’m not keeping Ying and Asher waiting upstairs in the hotel room I’ll post a few photos on here and write a decent post.
